Le Funiculaire
This is a tram train ride up the side of St Hillaire of the Chartreuse mountains. Originally, it was constructed in 1924 as a tram carrying mine workers but today it is tourist attraction. The ride is extremely trilling. The tram goes up the side of the mountain, the climb gets steep, so the ride can get quite hair-raising.
You can see the tracks in the above picture. The diagonal track line starts from the bottom, behind the house to the top which is left top corner of the picture.

Above, the parachuters gracefully circle in the sky.
Parachute and hang-glider enthusiasts make their take off from a cliff on the top of St Hillaire. We watched them for a while before making our way back down.

The circles at the left bottom corner of the picture is where they should land.
I wish I could try, but of course you need to take lessons before you can do this.
